I'm one of those weird people who like to fill in surveys... here's one:

Quoting from AlertNet:

"HUMANITARIAN CELEBRITY OF THE YEAR 2007: As the year draws to a close, we're asking which famous faces have given the best - and worst - name to "celebrity humanitarianism" in 2007. We've consulted with aid agency experts to come up with a shortlist for the public to vote on - but you can also make your own choices. There are five celebrity categories - actors, musicians, athletes, philanthropists and leaders. Please do take a couple of minutes to complete our poll. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=rfAMX2T0zwkiQxxu1ZjADA_3d_3d%0A

I hate how I react whenever I see the words "celebrity" and "humanitarian" together. I imagine a famous-for-nothing starlet posing for the camera with a starving black baby in the hope of gaining more exposure. This is a shame because I know many people have been able to use their fame to attract attention to very worthwhile causes and help to improve lives. "Humanitarian Of The Year" sounds like helping people but "Celebrity Humanitarian Of The Year" sounds like a popularity contest. I need to be less cynical.
