A couple of weeks ago, I went to Dufferin Park (not far from us) to check out the weekly farmer's market that takes place near to their community woodfire oven. (The market a bit on the expensive side - lovely produce though and very happy feel.)

What really caught my attention and is truly remarkable is what is taking place on the south end of the park right by the wading pool. The community is building a mud and straw structure. When I saw it that week, it looked pretty much like this:

We rode by last weekend and saw people (kids included) decorating the walls with mosaic. And this weekend, we rode by to see that the plastering has now begun:

All this so that the park could fulfill the Health Department's requirement of a sink by the wading pool. Very very cool!!

Indeed, very very cool. From the last pictures on this last page of the pictures, it looks like plastering is done: http://www.dufferinpark.ca/cobcourtyard/cobgallery47.html

Amazing - it looks like the whole neighbourhood was involved.

That was the impression I had. On the three occasions that I have been there, children and adults were working on the structure. Obviously, adults were doing the big work. But kids were doing a lot of the mosaic work - as well as design - the day I saw them working on the southern end.
