Time passes
I've been writing to myself (via a blog) for 4 years. I've honed my writing skills enough that I quite enjoy my own writing. So, that's it for my blogging; it was a creature of its time; now is later. In a way, I wish I hadn't started this thread; that's silly of course. Que sera que sera. This foru...

Weird
OK, this is really weird. This experiment of mine is taking on a life of its own. Given that I can produce almost any flavour, texture, mouth feel colour, aroma etc. with mostly things that grow, I find myself having to say at 6 o'clock - "now don't forget to add the meat" !!! How weird is...

Blogs vs. Facebook
I began writing and illustrating a blog http://konstliv.blogspot.com/ about 4 years ago. When I first began, I felt a huge thrill at being able to publish worldwide. After some time, I realized that while I was writing, not many people were reading. In order to establish a readership, one had to pub...

some results already
I began this regime only one month ago. At the time I was really only expecting any measurable changes after 3 or 4 months. Well, beginning at a very portly weight of 239 lbs., this morning I find that has changed to 231lbs. Hmm....this is fun!!!

Being new..
We have the choice of both here in Toronto. With a laptop without any data, I simply logged on to the first network the card found. It is an unsecured private network. I've got some learnin' to do before I make greater use of the laptop. Still, even at this level, it's pretty cool.

Laptops - I'm WAY behind
A few days ago I dropped into my local computer shop for a new fan. As I was leaving, I noticed a bunch of laptops for sale. They seemed incredibly inexpensive. I wanted to know more about them. After some consultation, I bought http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/hp-compaq-nc6230/4505-3121_7-31297917.h...

Vegan?
I guess I should be a little more careful when I throw terms around. "Veganism is a diet and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose.[1][2] Vegans endeavor not to use or consume animal products of any kind" I abhor extremism of all kind; ...

Brides?
I cannot draw from any personal experience (3 weddings, 2 my own) but are brides generally more stupid than grooms?

It was too cold to play wooden instruments so what we heard was recorded in advance.

Queen of Soul
I just made that title up when I posted. She was there as the first singer because of the effect she had when she sang "Respect" in 1967; it became a rallying cry in the Civil Rights movement, which is only now bearing fruit. Who would not listen to Aretha?? "soul" music = music ...

Queen of Soul
I hope we can one day have a world in which race is not such big issue. That day may one day come but is definitely here now. It is still important to use symbols in public affairs. Aretha was there to sing but also there to send a powerful symbolic message; the same is true of the group. We need po...

I hate to quibble (sure sign that quibbling is about to take place) but, isn't "furnicide" the common word for furnace killing?

GOIN' GOOD
When I first read about Bittman and Conan's "vegan til 6" scheme, I pictured it involving major adjustments to my lifestyle if I were to embrace it. That hasn't been the case. For breakfast, I've just changed from a potato and an Italian sausage to porridge. For lunch I have the same stir ...
