When putting fuel into my car I have to stop the display at an exact multiple of 5 or 10 number such as 25.00 or 30.00. If I misjudge by even 0.01 I must go to the next acceptable number. Oh dear. What happens if the tank is full and the number is unacceptable? Do you start to fill someone else's g...

isn't it supposed to be getting simpler?
We bought a new TV recently. We like everything about it EXCEPT that we now have three remote control devices to deal with: one for the TV, one for the DVD player and one for the cable company. We used to have only one remote control device that could be used for the TV, the VCR (our VCR packed it i...

Oh My!!
I'm reeling!! I must say that I never knew that I was one of the elite. * I always thought I was one of the ordinary ones. :stomp: I also had no idea that the elite were in the chattering class. Somehow, that makes them less than elite, doesn't it? The Conservatives appear unfazed by the criticism, ...

I misread #10 in the first list. I thought it was o s t e o p o r o s i s and the spaces were the joke, representing the porosity (spaces) in the osteo (bones). Rats!! I wish I'd thought of that! I also suspect that they may not have originated from the Washington Post (would they publish a Top 17 ...

I don't know how long these have been floating around the internet, nor if they're really from the Washington Post, nor if they're from one particular year. But who cares? They're clever. Here's the Washington Post's Mensa Invitational which once again asked readers to take any word from the diction...

Just when I thought people couldn't be stupider
Travelers on incoming international flights said that during the final hour, attendants removed blankets, banned opening overhead bins, and told passengers to stay in their seats with their hands in plain sight. Isn't it a good thing for these poor travellers that the idiot terrorist acted in the l...
