I became a fan of Rufus Wainwright in 1998 after hearing "Foolish Love" and "Beauty Mark" from his first album "Rufus Wainwright". The incredible voice and his huge composing smarts sold me. His later output has been mixed, but always with a nugget of gold. He goes over-the-top as a starting point, and this may not appeal to all; how do forum followers find him?

I've heard of him but I can't remember what his music is like. I suspect that means it's not to my tastes.
